‘Honouring the legacy of learning, one page at a time’
On August 12th, Expert PU College, Valachil, marked National Librarian’s Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. The occasion featured inspiring speeches from Principal Dr. N K Vijayan Karippal, who reflected on Dr. Ranganathan’s remarkable contributions and mathematical brilliance; Mr. Subramanya Udupa – Vice Principal (Academics), who likened the library to a temple and emphasized the importance of reviving the reading habit; and Mr. Gurudatta N. – Coaching Head, who appreciated the librarian’s role in guiding competitive exam aspirants. Mr. Yuvraj – Librarian, shared an insightful profile of Dr. Ranganathan’s life and achievements. The programme, compered by Ms. Ishwarya – Librarian, concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Deepthi H – Librarian.
