“Beacon Buddies – Where Compassion Meets Courage”
Expert PU College, Valachil, took a bold step toward emotional wellness with the inauguration of Beacon Buddies, a unique blend of peer counselling and child rights awareness. It is the first of its kind in Karnataka. The initiative was inaugurated by Mr. T.D. Nagaraj, Police Inspector, Kankanady Town Police Station and Ms.Shwetha N Child Development Project Officer, Women and Child Development Department, Mangalore Urban, who praised the college for fostering a safe and empathetic campus culture.
The ceremony, presided over by Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman, Expert and Dr. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Vice-Chairperson, Expert featured the unveiling of the logo, badge distribution, and recognition of winners of a poster competition on Child Protection. Beacon Buddies being the brainchild of Dr. N. K. Vijayan Karippal, Principal, Expert, stands as a shining example of how empathy, when nurtured in young minds, can become a lifelong strength.
